Seeking a role in an established healthcare clinic with a model of integrating your services is not a well-worn path. Much like infant feeding,  the IBCLC profession is both an art and a science.  In this course we will discuss recommendations for lactation care in the medical home, the role of the lactation consultant, common perceptions from the existing medical professionals and bringing all of these things together to collaborate in a clinic or office setting.

  • Give examples of clinic characteristics that predict potential to integrate lactation
  • Utilize recommendations from current guidelines
  • Identify and respond to adverse events
